Personal care and assisted living are not covered under health insurance. Also, medical assistance does not pay for this type of housing in Pennsylvania. Typically, individuals pay for their housing and care using:

• Savings
• CDs, stocks, bonds
• Pension
• VA monies
• Disability
• Long term care policy
• Proceeds from the sale of a home

Family and friends are permitted to financially assist a resident in paying for their care.
